 Mission

  • To actively contribute to campaigns and partnerships that will achieve our vision of zero toddler drowning
  • To ensure that every disabled child is provided with the equipment, aids and services they need to support their daily care and quality of life as soon as the need is identified.

 Objectives and Strategies

 Objective 1 - Zero Drownings

Strategies

1.1 Develop and maintain partnerships with key water safety agencies around the country

1.2 Advocacy for changes to Standards, Legislation, Regulations and their enforcement to improve the safety of domestic swimming pools   and safety around other water sources

1.3 Advocacy for the introduction and implementation of a National Scheme of competency for swimming pool barrier/safety inspectors covering both the public and private sectors

1.4 Advocacy for the adoption of a nationally consistent regulatory framework for safety of domestic swimming pools and other aquatic environments

Objective 2 - Provision of equipment to support the daily care and quality of life of children with hypoxic brain injuries and associated disabilities

Strategies

2.1 Develop and maintain partnerships with key disability service providers servicing children with hypoxic brain injuries and their families

2.2  Assist in ensuring the prescription of the right equipment at the right time for each child's needs

2.3 Establish relationships with equipment providers and supply chains to ensure equipment is obtained on the best possible terms and prices.

 

Objective 3 - Research with Impact

Strategies

3.1 Development of research priorities in relation to  hypoxic brain injuries and associated disabilities

3.2 Development of a network of researchers involved in hypoxic brain injury and associated disabilities research

3.3 Development of a sustained capacity to support and promote hypoxic brain injury research

3.4 Support the development of research fellowships focused on hypoxic brain injuries and associated disabilities.

4.1 Development of a strong, well respected and trusted brand

4.2 Implement and maintain effective governance systems and continuous improvement methodologies

4.3 Implement and maintain an effective donor and sponsor relationship management system
